The Lovely Bones: Book and Movie Comparison

I thought the book was amazing. There is no doubt in my mind that would say otherwise. Especially compared to the movie which I thought was no so good.  the movie completely cut out some of the more graphic parts of the book. I mean it cut out the first important event and then they cut out another big part when she came back into Ruth's body.  That just kind of messes up the whole story line I think.  Once they cut those parts out the movie was, to me, missing something.  I was on the other hand very good at keeping it interesting though.  The whole thing with Mr. Harvey watching Lindsey and her maybe becoming his next victim. I think other then that it was not even a good book to movie film. It turned in to a good  murder, thriller, suspense film though. But that's just my opinion.

The Lovely Bones movie review

The review of the movie I read was written by Ty Burr from the Boston Globe.  I have to agree with what Ty Burr is saying about Susie's heaven and how it did look like landscape pictures from a calander.  I would have to say that this was not such a good book to movie adaptation either. Ty Burr says "Maybe you have to be delusional, though, to try to create a tasteful movie out of a book narrated from limbo by a girl raped and murdered in the opening scenes." I would have to agree with that statment because I would asume that having a dead girl narrarate the movie was kinda of confusing because it keeps jumping back and fourth between the 'in between' and earth.  I would mostly say that i agree with Ty Burr's movie review.

Summary
In this section of the book Susie talks about the camera her parents gave her for her birthday. She talks about how she had a certain amount of film and she used it all. Her parents told her that it would cost to much to get them all developed at once so her mother told her to think about which ones to send and which ones to hold back.  Her mother had left so she could clear her head but her leave, that was aid to be temporary, felt more like permanent. Her grandmother Lynn had called and told her father Jack that she was going to come and stay with them for awhile. It seemed to her that Jack could use some assistance with Buckley and Lindsey.
Ruth, a girl that Susie had brushed hands with before she went to the in between (a place between heaven and earth), had gotten hit and passed out.  Susie temporarily had gone into Ruth's body and was able to talk to Ray again. Ray is the boy she likes.  She was able to get the kiss she wanted and ended up making love to him too.  The her time was up and she had to go back to heaven.

Reaction
When I read this line in the book it kind of caught me off gaurd.  I was amazed that Susie would say this.  This was the list line in the book and it made me feel complete. Also it made the book to me feel like it ended and there was nothing left unanswered.
