Summary
In this section of the book Macon was driving Halley home from the party. She was a little drunk and she kept telling Macon that she was sorry. she was saying this because she had promised to sleep with him but then puked because of the alcohol in her system. she kept telling him that she was going to sleep with him and that she was serious but because she drank to much and got sick she did not. The light was turning from green to yellow to red but Macon did not slow down. They kept speeding up and going faster even though Halley told him to slow down. All Halley could remember was that Macon got brighter and then coldness. They got into a crash because Macon did not listen to Halley and sped up. Macon kept telling Halley he loved her and that it would be OK. This is the first time that he ever said that to her. When Halley was in the hospital Scarlett told the people that she was Halley's sister so that they would let her. Scarlett asked Halley where Macon was and she told her that he had to stay at the scene of the accident. Halley ended up breaking up with Macon because of that night. He tried to talk to her but she did not want to talk to him. He wanted to still be with her but she did not want to be with him.
When they went to the prom Scarlett was close to her due date. Halley went with her ex-boyfriend and Scarlett went with her friend. Halley's date was drunk and ended up ripping her dress. Sometime during the dance Halley was in the bathroom trying to fix her dress when someone came in saying that Scarlett's water broke. Halley was outside trying to get a ride to the hospital when Macon pulled up in a car and asked if they needed a ride. Scarlett screamed at him saying thwt they did and then called him stupid. Halley responded to him in a calm tone. When they get to the hospital and finally delivered the baby Scarlett decided to name her new baby girl Grace Halley Thomas, after her best friend Halley. Halley then went out into the waiting room where all of her and Scarlett's friends and Scarlett's mother were waiting and announced that it was a girl. Everyone started to scream and jump up and down. At the end the events had changed Halley and Scarlett for the better and they were a big happy family.

"Don't leave!" (Dessen 273).
Reaction
When I read this in the book I connected to it because Scarlett was telling Halley not to leave her in this scary time for the both of them. I connected to this because when I was younger and scared like Scarlett, when I broke my foot, I told my cousin not to leave my side but she did. She told me that she did not want to but she had to. I can connect to Scarletts feelings even if it was a different situation.

Someone Like You(175-231)
Summary
In this section of the book Halley's mother went to be with Grandma Halley since she is sick. To Halley this was like a get out of jail free card since her father did not really care what she did as long as she did not get into any trouble. Since her dad worked on a radio station he was not really home all that much. Also Scarlett's sense of small became more sensitive because of the pregnancy. She had to clean everything because the smells bothered her noes. Halley ended up going to visit her grandma Halley at her new home in the assisted living facility. Some of the people were confined to beds and others were speeding down the hallways in motorized wheel chairs. Halley's grandmother, at first did not recognize her, but then when Halley's mother told her who it was her face lit up and she asked Halley how she was doing. Halley missed he grandmother very much and was sad to see her this way. It finally hit the five month mark for Scarlett being pregnant. There was no more hiding that fact from people. Scarlett and Halley's boss was concerned that Scarlett being sixteen and pregnant was a bad example for the costumers; but Scarlett on the other had did not think so.

"With my mother gone, it was like I'd been handed a Get Out of Jail Free card" (Dessen 175).
Reaction
When I read this in the book i agreed with Halley completely. This is because when a parent is not home sometimes some people get away with what they want. they can do certain things that they can't do with their parents around. Some people who can't normally have people over, have people over. Some people have parties when their parents aren't home. It all depends on the person, this is why I agree with Halley completely.

Reaction
When I read this i thought of my own family. Sometimes my grandfather forgets my name and calls me by my cousins mane, Daryn. It starts to scare me because he forgets alot and sometimes he forgets the important things and that normally doesn't work. He sometimes scares my dad too. This would scare everyone because someone forgets to turn off the stove the house might burn down.
